Targeting is an essential part of offer setup that lets you adjust your offer for the right audiences and show affiliates what traffic they are expected to provide. For example, you can set up targeting to allow “iPhone X” users from “Canada” only, and then “non-iPhone X” and “non-Canada” users will be blocked on the offer and redirected to a preset destination URL (more about redirect rules).
Evertrack offers two ways of offer targeting: Geo-targeting and Device targeting. Both are available under the Payout & Goals tab of offer:
It is a country-wide targeting that lets you focus your offer on desired countries and cut off traffic from non-targeted ones.
Enable “Geo” and select one or more countries to include in offer targeting. Check the Exclude option if you need to exclude those countries from the targeting:
Device targeting includes device types, operating systems, device models, brand names, and other filters for advanced desktop and mobile targeting.
In the Payout and Goals tab, enable “Rules” and select one or more items among 60 available filters. If needed, check the Exclude option to rule out selected items from the targeting:
Customize device targeting
Evertrack allows to create custom device targeting rules and add regular expressions to specify every targeting criterion you need. To learn more about regular expressions see this wiki.
To create a custom rule, select “Tools” - “Rules” in the main menu and click “Create”:
You can customize rules by the following criteria:
- User agent
- Device model
- Device type
- OS name
- OS version
- Browser name
- Browser version
- Affiliate source
- Affiliate subs (1-5)
- Mobile career
- Connection speed
For example, you want to target your offers by 5 European mobile network operators - Vodafone, Orange, Telefonica, VimpelCom, and Telenor. To match this targeting, you create a new rule and specify the following regex in the Mobile Carrier field:
After you create your new rule it will be available in the list of rules under the Payout and Goals tab of offer:
